The Famous is where you go if you have a special occasion to celebrate, if you need to kick back over a meal and have the bucks to go big, or if you simply want to check out one of Colorado Springs's most well-known names in steak. Leather booths envelope you as you dig in to a big slab of prime rib and sip your cocktail. The Famous's food and ambience have led multiple awards from local papers. The Gazette called it "Best Steakhouse," the place that offered the "Best Fine Dining," and the site of the "Best Martini." No lunchtime slouch, The Famous was also chosen by the Colorado Springs Independent as the home of the "Best Place to Grab a Burger for Lunch." Meals are accompanied with Caesar salad and range from — yup you guessed it — all kinds of steaks including New York Strip, Filet Mignon, or Colorado “All Natural” Ribeye Steak. The Famous offers a range of toppings such as Maryland crabmeat and jumbo shrimp. For many Americans, lunch is the least healthy meal of the day because of shrinking lunch breaks and fast food options on every corner. Packing your own lunch to bring with you to work is much healthier, but it can be time-consuming and at times inconvenient. Below are a few ideas for high-quality, convenient lunches to pack at home at Fort Carson Family Housing.

Salads are an excellent way to keep lunch extra healthy. Top them with leans grilled or baked chicken and make sure to add some extras like nuts, dried fruit, or veggies for added texture and flavor. Opt for a light oil & vinegar style dressing rather than creamy options to keep the fat and calories to a minimum.

Buds and Blooms Free Flower Give Away

As a thank you to our residents we will be giving flowers away at both of our Community Centers on May 17th beginning at 10 am. You can go to the Joel Hefley Community Center, 6800 Prussman Blvd or to the Kit Carson Community Center, 4800 McNerney Street and you can pick up a few flowers to plant in your yard. This will be while supplies last and there will be a limit on how many flowers you will receive.

This is for Housing residents ONLY, and is one set of flowers per household.
